Platform Sync

1) Sync with Research

You can choose to tick which options you could like to be included in the sync depending on your needs.
2) Configure Auto-Sync Settings
The Auto Sync process runs nightly, and if set, will update the custom platform and/or options to match the research platform regularly. This can only be done for platforms which were copied from a research platform.
The same tick options are available here allowing you to regularly update the options you want.
3) Generate Custom Platform to Research Comparison Report
Choosing this option will generate a simple report which shows the differences between the Research platform and the cloned platform.
This is a useful report to help you determine any differences with your custom platform before you choose to sync with Research data.
Why asset allocations in AdviceOS may differ slightly from fund provider data
Our platform standardises all funds into a consistent set of asset classes:
- Australian Shares
- International Shares
- Property
- Australian Fixed Interest
- International Fixed Interest
- Cash
- Alternative Income
- Alternative Growth
Fund providers often use different classification systems that don’t align exactly with these categories. For example, some providers may list infrastructure, private equity, or credit as separate asset classes, while others group them under broader categories.
To ensure consistency across all funds, we map each holding to the closest matching category within our framework. This is a “best fit” process based on the asset’s underlying characteristics, such as its risk profile and whether it behaves more like a growth or defensive asset.
While doing this, we aim to maintain the fund’s overall growth versus defensive allocation. This means that even if individual categories are grouped slightly differently, the fund’s overall positioning remains aligned with the provider’s data.
AdviceOS also use the fund’s Strategic (long-term) Asset Allocation rather than its current (tactical) allocation. Strategic allocation reflects the fund manager’s long-term target mix of asset classes, which is generally more stable over time. In contrast, a fund’s current allocation can change frequently due to market movements, short-term positioning decisions, or investor flows. Using the strategic allocation ensures a more consistent basis for financial planning, portfolio construction, and fund comparisons.
As a result, you may notice differences between the asset allocation shown in our system and what the fund provider publishes. These discrepancies typically reflect classification differences rather than any change to the underlying investments.
Tip: When reviewing a funds asset allocation, please remember to check the latest PDS, and compare the Strategic Asset Allocation not the current asset allocation.
