The next section is the Client Actions section, which consists of Client Action functions and Client Restore function.
Client Actions
This page
allows users to perform client actions such as Delete Client group, Delete
Spouse, Merge clients.
Delete a Client Group
Make sure we are in the
record of the client to be deleted, then select Delete Client Group from drop
down list.
The deleted client group will be mark as
inactive, and can be restored via Client Restore function.
Note: If there is any sensitive client
data to be removed, they need to be removed from the client records as deleting the client group will not erase
client information.
Partner the Client groups
This function allows us to join two client groups together as Primary and Spouse.
Make sure we are in the
record of the client we would like to be the primary client of the group.
Select Partner option from the Action
dropdown list
Search for the partner’s name in the search
bar.
Once the partner’s record is
highlighted, we can choose from the below to set partner’s new marital status,
merge dependents, override custom fields and addresses.
Split a Client Group
Splitting
the client group is commonly used for separation or divorce, the couple will be
split into two separate individual client groups.
Note:
- Joint assets and income will remain in each new client group.
- Any entities in
the client group will remain with primary client.
- Any Cashflow and
Capital scenarios based on a joint client group will be removed once split
occurs, users need to make
sure to keep on file of the joint scenarios if they wish as the scenarios will
no longer be available after the split.
Users can
select new marital status for the client.
Delete a Spouse
Different
from splitting the client group, deleting a spouse will mark the spouse
individual record as inactive.
Spouse’s income, expenses and holdings under own name will be
removed, users can select to keep or remove spouse’s
assets, liabilities and insurance.
Then click Submit.
Merge Client Groups
This
is typically used when there are duplicate client records for the same clients
but different information entered for the duplicate records.
Alternatively, if the client data are identical for both duplicate
records or all the details are loaded with one record, users
can delete the duplicate record (refer to section 3)
Client Restore
This page allows users to restore previously
deleted / archived client groups or individuals.
